Seongbuk-gu Reviews Execution of Five Key Policies Through 'Core Policy Implementation Report Meeting'

Four Core Policy Implementation Report Meetings to Be Held from the 20th to the 24th, Presided Over by Mayor Lee Seung-ro

Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced on the 19th that it will hold the ‘2025 Major Core Policy Implementation Report Meeting’ four times from the 20th to the 24th of this month.


This report meeting will urgently review 50 core policies across five major areas?inclusive welfare, balanced development, green city, livelihood economy, and cultural autonomy activation?to stabilize the livelihood economy, the district’s top priority task. Mayor Lee Seung-ro will preside over the meeting personally, demonstrating a strong commitment to promptly resolving the economic and living anxieties of residents.

Representative policies for inclusive welfare include the establishment of the Seongbuk Welfare Foundation, construction of a modern senior welfare center, and support projects for multicultural children, with the core aim of providing welfare benefits without blind spots from children to adults.


In the balanced development sector, the district will promote urban infrastructure improvements such as various redevelopment projects and the Gangbuk Transverse Line to enhance the quality of life for Seongbuk residents and stabilize their living conditions.


To realize a green city, policies such as the construction of Jangwi Cultural Park Library and the creation of a forest library in Gaewoonsan Park will be pursued. The goal is to develop a city where people and nature coexist, allowing residents to maintain leisure despite difficult lives.


The district identified livelihood economy activation as the most urgent item. To this end, it plans to issue Seongbuk Love Gift Certificates, promote commercial district revitalization, and build the Seongbuk Youth Smart Startup Center, aiming to support diverse economic activities and foster sustainable growth of the local economy.


For cultural autonomy activation, plans include constructing the Seongbuk Culture and Arts Center and building six new community offices, along with operating various programs and establishing shared spaces for residents.


In addition to the major core tasks, the district will closely review this year’s work plans of affiliated organizations such as the Seongbuk-gu Urban Management Corporation and the Seongbuk Cultural Foundation. Through this, it aims to strengthen close cooperation between the district and these institutions to minimize the inconveniences residents experience amid difficult conditions.


Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, “Through this report meeting, we will concentrate administrative power to do our best so that Seongbuk residents can quickly pursue a stable life amid uncertain times and economic challenges.”
