President Yoon Seok-yeol Arrested on Charges of Leading Rebellion... First in Constitutional History Yonhap News

On the 19th, Chief Judge Cha Eun-kyung of the Seoul Western District Court held a detention hearing for President Yoon, who faces charges of leading a rebellion and abuse of authority to obstruct the exercise of rights. After the hearing, the judge issued an arrest warrant, citing concerns that evidence might be destroyed.

This marks 47 days since the '12·3 Emergency Martial Law Incident' and is the first time in constitutional history that a sitting president has been detained.

President Yoon is accused of conspiring with former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun to incite a riot with the aim of disrupting the constitutional order by declaring an unconstitutional and illegal state of emergency martial law on the 3rd of last month.
