Gyeongju Focuses on Citizen Health and Safety Starting in 2025

The city of Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, hosting APEC, is focusing its administrative efforts on the health and safety of its citizens from the beginning of 2025.


On the 18th, the Gyeongju Public Health Center announced that it has set this year's health promotion project slogan as "Healthy Citizens, Healthy City, Together with APEC," and plans to build a unique city brand by linking health and well-being with the international event.

To realize the slogan, the Public Health Center will actively promote integrated health promotion projects and health village creation projects this year.


As the first step, a meeting was held at 2 p.m. on the 16th in the health education hall of the Gyeongju Public Health Center to discuss the project direction and strategies.


At the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on ▲ the goals and strategies of the 2025 health promotion project ▲ creating and promoting a healthy environment as the APEC host city ▲ and health promotion models reflecting the characteristics of aging in Gyeongju.


Participants included Kim Geon-yeop, head of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Integrated Health Promotion Project Support Group, and Han Young-ran, professor at Dongguk University WISE Campus College of Nursing.


The Gyeongju Public Health Center consists of five teams: the Health Promotion Team, Medical Treatment Team, Family Health Team, Mental Health Team, and Dementia Relief Team, and carries out various programs and support projects for the health promotion of local residents.


Jin Byeong-cheol, director of the Gyeongju Public Health Center, said, "We will conduct an in-depth analysis of local health issues and develop health promotion models reflecting the unique characteristics of Gyeongju to create an environment that satisfies both citizens and visitors. We will widely promote the value of a healthy city, Gyeongju, through the 2025 APEC Summit."
