The Gyeongnam Office of Education is publicly recruiting the 6th term of Provincial Auditors who will lead efforts to detect corruption in the education sector and promote integrity activities.
The Office of Education announced on the 17th that it will recruit 30 Provincial Auditors from Gyeongnam residents from the 20th of this month until the 5th of next month.
Provincial Auditors participate in audits requested by the Superintendent of Education, propose corrections to corruption-inducing systems and practices, report misconduct by public officials, and submit opinions on improving educational administration systems.
They will also attend meetings of the Office of Education’s Audit Disposition Deliberation Committee and the Anti-Corruption Policy Promotion Planning Group.
The term of office is from March 6, 2025, to March 5, 2027, and it is an unpaid honorary position.
Eligibility requirements include being a resident registered in the province and having experience in specialized fields such as accounting, taxation, auditing, or legal affairs; experience in education-related work such as school operation committee activities; or being an expert with extensive knowledge and experience in educational administration.
Residents wishing to apply can visit the 5th floor of the 2nd Government Building of the Office of Education in person during the application period or submit their application form and self-introduction letter by mail or email.
Detailed information can be found in the announcement on the administrative information bulletin board on the Gyeongnam Office of Education website.
After the application period ends, the Office of Education plans to disclose the list of applicants to verify transparency.
Following an internal review, selected candidates will be individually notified by the end of February.
Auditor Lee Min-jae said, “I believe the activities of the Provincial Auditors have greatly contributed to achieving the highest overall integrity rating for four consecutive years in the public institution integrity evaluation,” and added, “We hope many residents will show interest and participate in recruiting the 6th term of Provincial Auditors to realize a more transparent Gyeongnam education.”
