On the afternoon of the 17th, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the '2025 Nowon District New Year's Meeting' held at the Nowon Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater, where he announced the direction and vision for the district's administration in the new year.
With over 1,000 participants including figures from various sectors and residents, this New Year's meeting was organized as an occasion to present the district's vision for leaping forward as an attractive future city and to pledge a vigorous leap forward.
The event began with a media performance by the ‘Saengdonggam Crew’ and proceeded in the order of ▲opening ▲introduction of guests ▲viewing of New Year's wish videos ▲New Year's greetings from key figures ▲the mayor's New Year's address and vision presentation ▲closing.
In his New Year's address, Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, “Nowon will continue rapid changes and innovations to establish itself as the central city of Seoul's northeastern region,” and specifically explained the administrative direction for 2025.
Specifically, he introduced large-scale projects responsible for Nowon's 100-year future such as ▲swift promotion of reconstruction and redevelopment ▲development of the Gwangwoon University station area into a future complex city ▲creation of the Nowon Bio Complex, as well as various festivals and concerts to strengthen its status as a cultural city, and new developments planned for 2025 including ▲Suraksan Natural Recreation Forest ▲extension of the Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail and installation of a musical fountain.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “2025 will be a year of leap forward for Nowon to establish itself as the central city of Seoul's northeastern region,” adding, “Based on the trust you have given us, we will further enhance the value of Nowon so that all residents can feel proud.”
