Both the CEO and Employees Became 'Geomdaengi'... Busan Port Authority's 21st Anniversary Love Briquette Sharing Event

The faces and sleeves of the employees of Busan Port Authority (President Kang Jun-seok, BPA) were covered in soot.

To celebrate its 21st anniversary, the authority announced that on the 16th, labor and management jointly conducted a briquette sharing volunteer activity in the Uam-dong area of Nam-gu, Busan.

BPA donated a total of 10,000 briquettes to energy-vulnerable groups near Busan Port. Among them, about 30 employees, including the BPA president and the labor union chairman, personally delivered 1,600 briquettes to eight households in the Uam-dong area. The briquette distributors, placing 200 briquettes at each household, hoped to help drive away the winter cold in these eight locations.

This volunteer activity was carried out under BPA’s social contribution brand ‘PORTner.’ PORTner aims to strengthen solidarity with local residents and create various social values, with ‘coexistence with the community’ as its core value.

BPA has been engaged in various donations and volunteer activities such as the sharing refrigerator project, BPA Hope Pantry, sharing side dishes and bread, and kimchi-making activities through ESG management. Employees are achieving more meaningful social contributions through voluntary participation.

Kang Jun-seok, president of BPA, said, “I hope this helps our port neighbors have a warm winter amid the cold wave,” and added, “On the occasion of BPA’s 21st anniversary, we will strengthen our relationship with the local community, identify marginalized groups, and expand beneficiary-centered social contribution activities to fulfill our social responsibilities.”
