Young People, Challenge Employment!...Gwangjin-gu Supports 'Job-Abandoned Youth' with 500,000 to 3,000,000 Won

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is promoting the ‘2025 Youth Challenge Support Project’ to support the employment activities of young people facing difficulties in job searching and is recruiting participants.

This project aims to help young people who have given up on job searching regain confidence, increase their motivation for employment, and strengthen their employment capabilities so they can step into society.

A total of 120 participants will be recruited, targeting 19-39-year-olds residing and living in Gwangjin-gu, including ▲young people who have given up on job searching ▲youth preparing for independence (aftercare completion) ▲youth entering or leaving youth welfare facilities ▲North Korean defectors ▲young caregivers ▲university nominees within the region ▲and regionally specialized youth.

The training courses will be operated in three types?short-term, mid-term, and long-term?depending on the participation period, with two cohorts per course. The training content goes beyond simple employment programs to include ▲psychological counseling and interpersonal skills ▲life management ▲confidence recovery ▲employment capability enhancement and company visits, providing a foundation for young job seekers to take their first step into society.

After completing the training, follow-up management will continue for three months, and benefits such as participation allowances and incentives ranging from a minimum of 500,000 KRW to a maximum of 3,000,000 KRW will be provided for completing the training and actively engaging in job searching. Additionally, various follow-up programs such as the National Employment Support System, Future Tomorrow Experience Internship, Job Seeker Leap Guarantee Package, and Youth Job Leap Incentives will be linked to help participants transition to actual employment.

For detailed information on eligibility, training schedules, recruitment numbers, and other inquiries, contact the ‘Seoul Youth Center Gwangjin’ Youth Challenge Support Project team, and applications can be submitted through Worknet.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We will spare no interest and support so that young people who have been psychologically weakened by long-term job preparation do not lose hope in job searching and can continuously challenge themselves and develop their capabilities.”

Gwangjin-gu has also achieved results by providing practical support to youth, such as youth lunchbox support, language and qualification exam fee support, and the establishment of youth startup spaces, winning the youth-friendly dedication award ‘Communication Award’ for two consecutive years.
