The moment you press the accelerator pedal deeply, a sound reminiscent of a spaceship from a sci-fi movie roars, and your neck is instantly thrown backward. The sensation of defying gravity, like a roller coaster plunging toward the ground, envelops your entire body. The vehicle’s position quickly shifts to the spot where your gaze was just moments ago.

Porsche’s powerful electric car, the ‘Taycan Turbo S,’ boasts monster-like performance. It overcame the unfamiliarity of electric vehicles with Porsche’s unique dynamism. With an overwhelming 952 horsepower, it takes only 2.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h. The distinctive electronic sound effect heard during acceleration provides a unique sense of speed, different from engine exhaust noise.

The monster-like performance was even more pronounced with Porsche’s new suspension. It is the ‘Porsche Active Ride (PAR)’ suspension, an evolution of Porsche’s acclaimed electronic ‘Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).’ This system keeps the body perfectly level at all times. It smoothly overcame bumps and speed bumps, and even when entering and exiting curves at high speed, it did not lean outside the turning radius. It felt as if it was defying gravity and inertia. The suspension instantly distributed wheel loads and operated according to centrifugal force, offsetting the external forces acting on the body.

Regenerative braking is also substantial. During deceleration at high speed, the regenerative braking capacity increased by more than 30%, from the previous 290 kW to a maximum of 400 kW. It was indicated that the car could run over 500 km on a full charge, and even after several dynamic runs, the driving range barely decreased.

Despite its monstrous performance, it shows a sufficiently calm demeanor in everyday situations. While it was a dynamic sports car in Sport Plus mode, in Normal mode it even felt like a dignified sedan. It demonstrated stability in urban driving, suitable for daily commuting. Although the PAR suspension gave a surreal feeling of defying physical laws at high speeds, it provided optimal comfort in city driving.

The low body height is not a problem either. When you approach the car to get in, the ride height automatically raises. It felt like a luxury sedan welcoming its customer. Once seated, the ride height lowers, giving a feeling of being close to the ground.

Battery charging is also hassle-free. The time to charge from 10% to 80% has been halved. The increased high-voltage battery can be charged in 18 minutes under conditions of 15 degrees Celsius battery temperature. It offers convenience fully suitable for a daily-use vehicle.

The exterior embodies the typical Porsche identity. It might be disappointing that there is little difference from the previous Taycan model. The arrangement inside the headlamps has changed slightly, and the surrounding lines have become sharper. However, it is already regarded as a sufficiently complete design on its own.

Contrary to its dynamic exterior, the interior is elegant. The digital instrument cluster has a slightly curved shape, displaying various functions with excellent visibility. The monitors are connected in a row from the center fascia to the passenger side, giving an open feeling. The central monitor for controlling the climate system is separate. The roof is equipped with an electronically adjustable sunroof that can switch between translucent and opaque states. Ambient lighting, parking assistance including 3D surround cameras, heated and ventilated seats, a wireless charging smartphone holder, charging ports for both driver and passenger seats, drive mode switches, and Power Steering Plus are all standard. The price starts from 247.4 million KRW.
