First, the "Pyeongdume Wetland Citizen Science Ecology School" will provide environmental education to residents to share the ecological value of Pyeongdume Wetland, which serves as a natural carbon sink, and to raise awareness about the seriousness of the climate crisis. The program, set to launch next month, will also offer opportunities to explore Pyeongdume Wetland, encouraging active responses to the climate crisis and interest in wetland conservation.

Next, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?the main cause of climate change?the district will select and support small businesses within its jurisdiction as Carbon Neutral Practice Stores.

To this end, "Carbon Coordinators," experts in the field of carbon neutrality, will visit small business sites to provide consulting on carbon neutrality, including education on energy conservation and guidance on reducing single-use product usage. This initiative, planned for March, aims to help small businesses reduce greenhouse gas emissions and foster a culture of carbon neutrality.

In February, the district will hold the "Carbon Neutral Green Growth Vision Proclamation Ceremony," share the "Basic Plan for Carbon Neutral Green Growth," and declare its "Vision for Carbon Neutral Green Growth." Through this, the district plans to announce its commitment to responding to the climate crisis and practicing carbon neutrality.

Additionally, the district will continue to implement projects step-by-step to prevent damage caused by climate change, such as installing stormwater retention facilities in flood-prone areas and carrying out disaster risk improvement projects.

District Mayor Moon In said, "Just like the recent LA wildfires, the world is suffering from severe damage caused by climate change," and added, "We will do our best to proactively respond to the climate crisis so that residents can lead their daily lives in a safe and healthy environment."
