Damyang County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Lee Byungno), announced on the 15th that it held a seminar on the 14th to explore efficient operation and post-management strategies for urban regeneration hub facilities in Damyang-eup.


The seminar, held at the Damyang Eoulrim Center?a hub facility established through the Damyang-eup urban regeneration project?was hosted by Damyang County and organized by the Korean Association for Urban Regeneration. The event was attended by over 70 participants, including county officials, association members, the Urban Regeneration Support Center, and related expert groups.


The "Damyang-eup Urban Regeneration Project" is being carried out in the Damjuri area, covering 144,400 square meters, with a total project budget of 15.4 billion KRW from 2020 to 2025. The project aims to improve residential environments, restore community-led initiatives, provide ecological and green spaces, and revitalize the local economy.


The seminar began with on-site inspections and consulting on urban regeneration hub facilities by county officials, Professor Kim Hangjip of Chonnam National University (President of the Korean Association for Urban Regeneration), and a group of urban regeneration experts. This was followed by a special lecture on Japanese urban regeneration cases, presentations on management strategies and operational cases for hub facilities, and a comprehensive discussion session.


During the comprehensive discussion, Professor Kim Hangjip, along with university professors and urban regeneration experts, discussed efficient operation and post-management strategies for the hub facilities.


Governor Lee Byungno stated, "We will incorporate the operational and management strategies discussed during the comprehensive discussion into our management plans to ensure the efficient operation of the hub facilities established through the Damyang-eup urban regeneration project."
