Monthly Support of 14,000 KRW...
Up to 168,000 KRW Annually
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 15th that it has officially launched a voucher support program for menstrual products for low-income female adolescents and is actively promoting it to ensure all eligible individuals receive benefits.
This program targets female adolescents aged 9 to 24 (born between 2016 and 2001) who are △ recipients of basic livelihood security △ part of the near-poverty class △ from legally recognized single-parent families.
Eligible recipients receive a voucher worth 14,000 KRW per month, up to a maximum of 168,000 KRW annually, allowing them to freely purchase menstrual products according to their personal needs and preferences.
The voucher support begins from the application date and, if there are no changes in eligibility, is continuously provided until the age of 24 with a single application.
However, vouchers can only be used within the applicable year, and unused amounts do not carry over and will expire, so they must be used by December 31.
Applications can be made by visiting the local town or township office of residence or easily online through the Bokjiro website. Especially, online applications are convenient for female adolescents and their guardians as they are not restricted by time or location.
A Namyangju City official stated, “The menstrual product voucher support program is an important initiative that helps low-income women and adolescents maintain their health and reduce economic burdens,” adding, “We will actively promote the program to ensure that no eligible person misses out on benefits due to lack of information.”
