Namyangju City Publishes 'Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum Casebook'

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 15th that it has published the 'Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum Casebook,' which introduces specialized childcare curricula for each daycare center centered on the 'Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum.'

The 'Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum' is a unique childcare program of Namyangju City that incorporates the spirit and achievements of Jeong Yak-yong into the childcare curriculum through play from early childhood, supporting young children to grow with pride as Jeong Yak-yong urban citizens.

Namyangju City selected creative and distinctive programs from the Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum implemented last year by 200 daycare centers in the city through expert review. The casebook introduces detailed operational cases where children can experience Jeong Yak-yong's values, including natural and traditional culture experiential learning and creative play-centered programs, along with major activity outcomes.

An official from Namyangju City said, "This casebook is the result of efforts to establish a specialized childcare culture unique to Namyangju City by integrating the spirit of Jeong Yak-yong into the childcare curriculum, and we hope it will be used as a reference for daycare centers newly operating the Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum in 2025."

Additionally, Namyangju City plans to distribute the casebook to local daycare centers and the Childcare Support Center, and based on this, hold training and workshops for childcare staff to promote the expansion and development of the Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum this year.
