As the Lunar New Year approaches, a novel T-shirt that can prevent various nagging from relatives about college, employment, marriage, and childbirth is drawing attention.
According to a survey conducted last year by Alba Heaven on 3,441 adults, 'nagging' ranked first as the source of stress during the Lunar New Year. 66% of people in their 20s and 48.4% of people in their 30s cited 'excessive questions and nagging related to employment and jobs' as their number one stress cause.
On the 15th, Kakao Pay announced that it will hold an event featuring 'Nagging T-shirts' that can blow away such nagging. The 'Nagging T-shirts,' provided free to event winners, list common Lunar New Year nagging phrases such as 'Which university will you go to?', 'Are you preparing well for employment?', 'It's about time to get married', and 'You should lose some weight' on the back as a menu with prices attached.
At the top of the nagging price list, a Kakao Pay remittance envelope QR code is included so that the nagging fee can be sent immediately. Questions about college admission are priced at 50,000 won, dating-related questions at 150,000 won, job preparation questions at 170,000 won, and marriage questions at 300,000 won.
Netizens who heard about the event responded with comments such as "This is really ingenious," "I want to wear it this Lunar New Year," "Every single nagging phrase is a gem," "Why do people ask such rude questions anyway?" "I want to ask my uncle, 'What are you going to do for your retirement?'" and "Yeah, if you're going to nag anyway, at least pay for it."
The event allows automatic entry on the Kakao Pay event page until the 16th. The T-shirts will be shipped to 50 winners before the Lunar New Year holiday, and the newly released 'Nagging Fee Remittance Envelope' can be used until the 31st.
