Supporting 2,000 Vulnerable Households in the Region for Seollal
BNK Gyeongnam Bank prepared a Bok (Fortune) Package wishing health and happiness to vulnerable households in the region.
On the 15th, BNK Gyeongnam Bank donated a ‘Bok Package worth 100 million KRW’ to Changwon Special City as part of the ‘Seollal Love Sharing Project’.
On the same day, Bank President Ye Kyung-tak visited Changwon City Hall and presented the ‘Bok Package Donation Certificate’ to Mayor Hong Nam-pyo.
The Bok Package, containing 18 types of food items such as pancake mix, red pepper paste, tuna, glass noodles, and seaweed, will be distributed to 2,000 vulnerable households recommended by Changwon Special City.
BNK Gyeongnam Bank plans to deliver Bok Packages worth a total of 307.5 million KRW to 6,150 vulnerable households in Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions, including Changwon Special City, before Seollal.
Bank President Ye Kyung-tak said, “Ahead of Seollal, the nation’s biggest holiday, we wanted to deliver not only food items that help with daily life but also the fortune of Bok to vulnerable households in the region. BNK Gyeongnam Bank will continue to strive to bring hope to the local community and fulfill its corporate social responsibility (CSR).”
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “I hope the Bok Packages filled with love, prepared together with BNK Gyeongnam Bank’s employees, will be a warm gift for neighbors in need. We ask BNK Gyeongnam Bank to continue its steady sharing projects for local neighbors who need a helping hand.”
On the 18th, a volunteer activity called ‘BNK Social Contribution Day’ will be held, where employees from all affiliates of BNK Financial Group will pack 18 types of food items into boxes to create the Bok Packages themselves.
Meanwhile, BNK Gyeongnam Bank expects to contribute somewhat to local reinvestment and startup support, as the local startup Sambaeg Yuksipsa (365), which was finally selected through bidding, will be responsible for supplying and distributing the Bok Package items.
