Installation of Approximately 130 Support Structures Across Seven Cities Including Yeoju
Large-Scale Transmission Line Project Aimed at Supplying Power to Yongin Semiconductor Cluster
Target Completion Year Set for 2032
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) is promoting the construction project of the 345kV Shinwonju~Dongyongin transmission line. This project is being pursued to ensure stable power supply to the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, with a target completion year of 2032, according to the 10th Basic Plan for Electricity Supply and Demand.
According to Yeoju City on the 15th, the transmission line will pass through a total of seven cities and counties including Yeoju, Icheon, Anseong, Yongin, Chungju, Eumseong, and Wonju, covering approximately 60 km of line section and installing about 130 support structures, from the Shinwonju switching station to the Dongyongin substation.
Site selection will be finalized through the Metropolitan Site Selection Committee, which will determine the final route corridor, and the Optimal Route Site Selection Committee, which will decide the optimal route site. The Metropolitan Site Selection Committee will be composed of a total of 32 members, including 28 representatives from the seven local governments?three resident representatives and one public official from each?and the implementing agency (KEPCO) and experts.
Before forming the Site Selection Committee, KEPCO's Gyeongin Regional Headquarters has been conducting project briefings by visiting the towns and townships of Yeoju City since the 10th, and plans to hold additional briefings by visiting the chairpersons of the village chief councils in the future.
