Hwang Hyun-seon, Secretary General of the Joguk Innovation Party, revealed Cho's letter on his social media on the 15th, saying, "Former leader Cho left a letter and a note asking to make it public if Yoon Seok-yeol is arrested." Hwang added, "In Cho's previous letter, he expressed hope that 'I will meet President Yoon at Seoul Detention Center,' and now that hope may come true. I am relieved to be able to disclose the letter now. It feels like I have completed a task."
In the letter, Cho stated, "The traitor of the rebellion, Yoon Seok-yeol, has been arrested. The rightful anger of the people and the strong solidarity of the people have triumphed," and added, "The Joguk Innovation Party has kept the promise of 'Three years is too long!'" The slogan "Three years is too long!" was the motto the Joguk Innovation Party promoted during the 22nd general election last April.
Cho emphasized, "Now we must move forward to establish a democratic government and achieve major social reforms," and said, "All traitors who threatened the people must be severely punished. The people will always win."
On the 9th, when the execution of the arrest warrant for President Yoon failed, Cho criticized him through a letter, saying, "I was expecting to meet Yoon at Seoul Detention Center, but it was canceled," and called him "a crazy tyrant who ignores even the court's warrant."
The joint investigation headquarters, composed of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit and the police, executed the arrest warrant against President Yoon, who is accused of being the ringleader of the rebellion, at around 10:33 a.m. that day. This is the first time in constitutional history that a sitting president has been arrested by investigative authorities.
