Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 15th that the age criteria for unregistered disabled children eligible for developmental rehabilitation services have been raised from 6 to 9 years old, thereby expanding the target group for the 'Developmental Rehabilitation Service Voucher Support Project.' The Developmental Rehabilitation Service Voucher Support Project provides vouchers of a certain amount to ease the burden on families raising disabled children who find it difficult to afford the high costs of developmental rehabilitation services.

Previously, support was limited to registered disabled children under 18 years old with visual, auditory, speech, intellectual, autism, or brain lesion disabilities from households with an income below 180% of the median income, and unregistered disabled children under 6 years old. However, following the amendment of the 'Welfare Support Act for Disabled Children' on the 3rd, the support age has been expanded, allowing unregistered disabled children under 9 years old to use the services.

Eligible individuals can use various services such as language, art, music, play psychology, and physical rehabilitation at 28 designated providers in Paju City, and vouchers ranging from 170,000 KRW to 250,000 KRW per month are provided according to the disability grade.

Woo Eun-jung, Director of the Senior and Disabled Department, stated, “We will strive to provide continuous attention and support measures for the rehabilitation treatment and living stability of children to help families of disabled children who are experiencing financial difficulties due to long-term treatment.”
