Signing of Business Agreement with Hyupsung Renaissance
The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service announced on the 15th that it signed a business agreement with Hyupsung Renaissance at the Bukduchilseong Library in Busan on the 14th to support a new creative environment in the field of literature.
This agreement is promoted with the purpose of supporting new creative spaces for literary writers. It is the Arts Council's third literary writer residency project following the Myeongdong Prince Hotel and Nami Island Jeonggwanru.
The Hyupsung Renaissance Residency supports literary writers to stay at Busan's 'Hyupsung Marina G7 Hotel' and engage in stable creative activities. The Arts Council plans to select eight domestic writers and support each writer to conduct writing activities for one month from May to December at the Hyupsung Marina G7 Hotel.
The Arts Council not only supports creation in the literary field but also provides opportunities for continuous meetings between literary writers and readers through Literary Week and Literary Plaza. Hyupsung Renaissance is a subsidiary of Hyupsung General Construction, a mid-sized company in the Busan area, and operates the Hyupsung Marina G7 Hotel.
The two organizations plan to expand the scope of creative activities and create a place to share literary inspiration by operating various programs such as meetings with writers and literary workshops, not merely providing space support.
Ryu Jae-su, Head of the Arts Support Division at the Arts Council, said, "Hyupsung Marina G7 is a space with accessibility and infrastructure connected to Busan Station, and it will be a good writing space that gives new inspiration to writers."
Jung Jin-ho, CEO of Hyupsung Renaissance, expressed his commitment to cooperation, saying, "We are pleased to carry out the literary support project with the Arts Council, and we will actively help Hyupsung Marina G7 become a creative landmark for our literary writers so that many excellent works can be born."
The Hyupsung Marina G7 Hotel Literary Residency plans to announce detailed project plans on the Arts Council website in February and begin accepting applications.
