Starting with this agreement, the two companies plan to collaborate on establishing a ‘system for discovering joint research projects based on new technologies’ and conducting a POC (Proof of Concept) project to verify the effectiveness of LiDAR-based parking control, as part of the phased digital transformation of Incheon Airport.

SOS Lab expects that if its ‘LiDAR-based Parking Guidance System (LPGS),’ which has been confirmed for introduction at Gimhae Airport and Yeosu Airport in Korea, is applied to Incheon International Airport, it will provide a faster and more convenient parking environment for a greater number of domestic and international airport users.

SOS Lab’s LPGS, equipped with NVIDIA Jetson Nano boards, is a solution that uses LiDAR to detect vacant parking spaces in real time. It is known to be effective in △reducing user travel time △saving social costs △enhancing the efficiency of airport parking lots.

An official from SOS Lab said, “It is meaningful to collaborate with Incheon International Airport, a representative hub airport in the Asia-Pacific region,” adding, “Collaboration with Incheon International Airport is expected to serve as a very important reference for carrying out projects with other global airports in the future.”

He continued, “As Incheon International Airport is actively adopting various advanced technologies such as robots and media art with the goal of reaching an annual passenger volume of 100 million, SOS Lab will contribute to providing differentiated experiences through LiDAR technology.”
