Ulsan Office of Education Conducts Intensive Inspection on Corruption-Prone Areas

Integrity Survey for Sports Teams and After-School Programs
Restoring Trust by Preventing Corruption and Ensuring Fairness

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) is launching focused management policies in corruption-prone areas to improve integrity.

The Ulsan Office of Education will conduct an integrity survey targeting sports team parents, after-school program-related business representatives, and instructors to deeply analyze issues in vulnerable areas and develop effective improvement measures.

The survey, commissioned to a professional research firm, will be conducted via text messages until the 17th, collecting opinions on a total of 18 items including transparent work processing, provision of money or entertainment, improper solicitation, and fundraising for sponsorships.

To enhance integrity, the Ulsan Office of Education will strengthen the survey and year-round integrity monitoring. If corruption reports are received through public interest reports, special audits will be conducted immediately, and intensive integrity education will be provided to the related schools to simultaneously prevent and respond to issues.

Since sports teams and after-school programs are considered corruption-prone areas, measures to increase transparency in work processing and eradicate unfair practices among stakeholders will be implemented as a priority.

The Ulsan Office of Education plans to foster a culture of integrity in the educational field and restore trust through these activities.

Auditor Kim Kyung-hee stated, “Through this survey, we will closely identify problems in corruption-prone areas and reflect the voices from school sites to prepare effective countermeasures,” adding, “We will do our best to establish the Ulsan Office of Education as a top institution in integrity by 2025.”
