The Gwangju Institute of Health and Environment announced on the 15th that it will operate a 'Children's Science Experience Class' for 4th to 6th grade elementary school students during the winter vacation.

The institute will hold the children's classes from February 4th to 6th, offering a variety of science experiences on topics easily encountered in daily life, such as animals, environment, and health. Each lecture will be held twice per topic, and participation is free of charge.

The animal class will be held on February 4th, the environment class on the 5th, and the health class on the 6th, with each class divided into morning and afternoon sessions lasting two hours each, at the main conference room of the Institute of Health and Environment.

The animal class will introduce wild animals living nearby and include animal experience activities such as animal origami. The number of participants is limited to 10 per session.

The environment class will explore odors in daily life and conduct experiments such as using water fleas to identify polluted water. In addition, students will learn about noise commonly encountered in daily life, such as traffic noise and inter-floor noise, and study how noise affects the human body by measuring decibels with a sound level meter. The number of participants is limited to 15 per session.

The health class will cover proper handwashing methods and include educational content such as observing mosquitoes and ticks under a microscope. The number of participants is limited to 15 per session.

Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from the 20th to the 24th through 'Baro Reservation,' the integrated reservation platform operated by Gwangju City. For more details, please refer to the announcements on the Gwangju City website.

Jung Hyuncheol, Director of the Gwangju Institute of Health and Environment, said, "We will strive to provide various science experience activities for children to foster their interest and curiosity in science, laying the foundation for nurturing future science talents."
