"Contributing to the Development of Aero Gas Turbines"
Doosan Enerbility announced on the 15th that it has signed a contract with the Agency for Defense Development for the project of 'Combustor and Test Rig Manufacturing.'
Through this contract, Doosan Enerbility will support the prototype manufacturing of a high-temperature combustor and rig testing, which the Agency for Defense Development is developing as a future challenge defense technology. The project is scheduled to be carried out until April 2027.
Doosan Enerbility plans to apply advanced technologies related to high-temperature components extensively for the prototype manufacturing of the combustor in this project. To respond quickly and accurately to customer requirements and various design variables, manufacturing technology using Additive Manufacturing (AM) techniques will be prioritized. Additionally, know-how accumulated in the power generation gas turbine field will be integrated.
Doosan Enerbility is currently carrying out a preceding project of this task, the 'Engine Layout Design and Analysis Service.' It is also conducting facility improvement work at the test site of the Agency for Defense Development where the combustor testing will take place. Through the linkage between projects, the completeness of aeroengine development can be further enhanced.
Son Seung-woo, Head of Power Service BG at Doosan Enerbility, said, "Based on the advanced manufacturing technology and testing capabilities accumulated during the development of power generation gas turbines, we will contribute to the future development of aero gas turbines."
