Purchases Now Available with Child Meal Card on HY’s Predit Platform
A Total of 220 Products Including Dairy, Food, and Desserts Can Be Purchased
Products such as milk and juice can now be purchased using the child meal card operated by Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Province Corporation.
Gyeonggi Province Corporation announced on the 15th that it has established a linkage system between the child meal voucher and ‘Predit,’ the mobile platform of HY Co., Ltd. (formerly Korea Yakult), and started the service from the 14th.
The ‘Gyeonggi Province Child Meal Support Platform’ is the name of the delivery app used by children eligible for meal support in Gyeonggi Province. It is a system that allows the existing child meal card, which was only available for on-site face-to-face payment, to be used on ‘Baedal Teukgeup,’ Gyeonggi Province’s public delivery app. This has the advantage that children eligible for meal support can order meals non-face-to-face without worrying about stigma effects. It is currently in use in 29 cities and counties within the province.
‘Predit’ is HY’s product purchase application, and the linkage to allow purchasing Predit’s products with the child meal voucher has been completed. Currently, there are a total of 220 products available for purchase with the child meal voucher on Predit, including HY’s main products such as dairy products, various meal kits, salads, and juices. Beneficiaries who want to use the child meal voucher can easily purchase by having their parents register the child meal card in the personal information section after signing up on Predit on their behalf.
Additionally, Gyeonggi Province Corporation and HY Co., Ltd. are conducting an open event until the 31st, where users who purchase with the child meal card on Predit will receive 50% of the payment amount as points.
This linkage between the child meal card system and Predit was implemented as a follow-up measure to the ‘Business Agreement for Building a Social Safety Net for Vulnerable Groups in Gyeonggi Province’ signed last December by Gyeonggi Province Corporation, HY Co., Ltd., and the Good Influence Store Association.
Gyeonggi Province Corporation, which operates the Gyeonggi Province Child Meal Support Platform, HY Co., Ltd., and the Good Influence Store Association, which consists of nationwide franchisees supporting children facing food insecurity, promised to explore policies supporting meal children, promote ethical consumption through active publicity, and discover other business models for vulnerable groups starting from the business agreement.
Lee Jae-jun, CEO of Gyeonggi Province Corporation, said, “It is meaningful that we have increased the places where the child meal card can be used as part of the business agreement signed last year,” and added, “Gyeonggi Province Corporation will do its best to ensure there are no blind spots in welfare through the platform capabilities it possesses.”
