Gyeonggi Province listened to the difficulties of the dining industry and discussed practical support measures to revive the livelihood economy.
On the 14th, Gyeonggi Province held an emergency livelihood economy meeting at Danwon Hall in the provincial government office, chaired by Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs Ko Young-in, and introduced small business support policies to be newly implemented or expanded in 2025, including ▲ the new promotion of the Small Business Cheer Up Card ▲ expansion of the Gyeonggi Big Sale ▲ expansion of Gyeonggi local currency issuance ▲ special guarantees for debt repayment extension for small business owners with medium and low credit, and expanded support for small and medium enterprise development funds.
Following this, a Q&A session was held regarding the proposals from the Korea Foodservice Industry Association’s Gyeonggi Southern and Northern Branches.
The Gyeonggi Southern Branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association requested, “Please defer the principal and interest repayment dates of loans from the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation for small business owners and policy fund loans for two years.”
The Gyeonggi Northern Branch proposed, “Please establish a Dining Management Support Center in the northern region for small business owners in northern Gyeonggi,” and “Please prepare measures to revitalize public delivery apps such as Baedal Teukgeup.”

In addition, there were proposals such as expanding the implementation of office cafeteria closure days, supporting eco-friendly aprons and sanitary caps, and integrated management of Gyeonggi local currency living zones.
Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province introduced the expansion of special guarantees for debt repayment extension for small business owners with medium and low credit and expanded support for small business refinancing funds, and explained that dining management support projects will be carried out throughout the province. They also announced plans to increase win-win marketing projects involving public delivery apps such as “Ttaenggyeoyo” and “Meokkaebi” as well as Baedal Teukgeup, together with related small business organizations.
Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs Ko Young-in said, “The difficulties felt by the dining industry, such as rising raw material prices due to high inflation and financial difficulties caused by high interest rates, are likely to be even greater on the front lines of the livelihood economy,” and promised, “We will positively review the proposals based on the three principles of ‘field-centered,’ ‘prompt response,’ and ‘bold action’ and strive to provide practical help to the dining industry.”
Gyeonggi Province plans to continuously hold emergency livelihood economy meetings by sector and prepare additional support measures based on the collected opinions.
