Applications Accepted at the Regional Vitality Center Until the 24th

Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province is recruiting community groups to participate in the 'Jeongeup-Style Village Making Citizen Idea Contest (Root Stage)', which aims to revitalize the local economy and culture through resident-driven ideas.

This contest aims to promote sustainable regional development and improve quality of life.

The Citizen Idea Contest is divided into two categories: village communities and small-scale startup communities.

The village community category invites proposals for various resident-centered projects in areas such as economy, culture, and environment. The small-scale startup community category focuses on startup ideas that create social value by utilizing local specialties and resources.

Through this contest, it is expected that resident-led activities will boost the local economy and culture, while also strengthening community cooperation.

Applications for participation are open until the 24th. Interested groups can apply by visiting their local township, town, or neighborhood community center or the City Regional Vitality Center.

The Citizen Idea Contest is conducted as a multi-stage community development project, consisting of the root stage, stem stage, post-management stage, and fruit stage.

In the root stage, projects that bring about tangible changes?such as revitalizing the village economy and improving the environment?are carried out. In the stem stage, more concrete and scalable projects are implemented.

After two years following the completion of the stem stage, the project moves to the post-management stage, where additional support and management are provided to enhance the sustainability of community activities.

In the fruit stage, the focus is on transforming into village enterprises and social enterprises, where local residents address regional issues and create income and jobs by utilizing various local resources, with the goal of revitalizing the local economy and realizing social value.

Last year, 15 communities in the root stage brought positive changes to the local society through economic revitalization using local specialties, resident-led environmental improvements, and community culture activation.

The city plans to do its best to actively encourage citizen participation and support various community projects, aiming to make Jeongeup a happier place for everyone.

A city official stated, "We ask for your active participation so that we can realize diverse community projects led by citizens and create a happy Jeongeup where everyone grows together through this contest."
