‘Lunar New Year Integrity Violation Warning’ Issued Until February 4
Strengthened Inspection of Gifts, Entertainment, and Negligence in Duty
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Cheong-su) will conduct a special inspection to establish public service discipline until February 4th in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
Following the issuance of the 'Lunar New Year Holiday Integrity Violation Warning' to all institutions (schools) on the 8th, a thorough inspection will be carried out targeting local education support offices, affiliated organizations, and all schools.
This inspection was initiated to prevent laxity in public service discipline during the holiday atmosphere and to foster a culture of integrity in public service.
The main inspection items include violations of the Code of Conduct for Public Officials and integrity obligations such as accepting money or entertainment under the pretext of holiday greetings, violations of duty including neglect of duty and leaving the workplace, passive work handling and acts damaging dignity, and checking emergency preparedness for accidents such as security and disasters.
Depending on the inspection results, minor issues will be corrected immediately on site, while serious violations of public service discipline will be strictly disciplined according to their severity.
Auditor Kim Kyung-hee stated, “We are conducting a special inspection with strict standards to prevent laxity in public service discipline during the Lunar New Year holiday atmosphere,” and added, “We will do our best to establish a culture of integrity in public service by thoroughly educating and counseling affiliated public officials.”
