Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, supports exam fees such as language tests to help young job seekers prepare for employment.
Unlike last year, when support was provided once per person annually, this year there is no limit on the number of times. Each individual can receive up to 100,000 KRW per year for language tests and national qualification exams, reimbursed within the support fund limit regardless of whether the final certification is obtained.
The support targets unemployed youth aged 18 to 39 residing in Yeonsu-gu as of the application date. Any youth who is not a health insurance employee subscriber or a self-employed individual can apply.
The eligible exams include language tests taken after December 1 of last year (such as TOEIC, TOEFL, HSK, JLPT), Korean History Proficiency Test, national technical and professional qualification exams, and nationally certified private qualification exams.
Youth who wish to apply can submit applications online through the Incheon Youth Portal from the 1st of next month until November 30th each month. Applications will close early if the budget is exhausted.
After verifying eligibility, the district will select recipients in order of application and plans to provide the exam fee support on the 20th of the following month. Detailed information can be found on the Incheon Youth Portal website.
A Yeonsu-gu official stated, "We hope this project will help local youth focus on their dreams without worrying about employment preparation," and added, "We will continue to promote policies that young people can feel to support their healthy independence."
