This project is conducted to systematically nurture future agricultural manpower by discovering young farmers with unstable initial income and promising successor farmers, and providing farming settlement support funds and policy fund loans.
The Young Farmers Settlement Support Project is open to prospective farmers aged 18 to under 40 (born after January 1, 1985) or farmers with less than 3 years of independent farming experience. Selected candidates can receive up to 1.1 million KRW per month in voucher form for up to 3 years, which can be used for household and farming expenses, and also receive policy fund loans under the same conditions as successor farmers.
The Successor Farmer Manager Development Project targets farmers aged 18 to under 50 (born after January 1, 1975) who have no farming experience or less than 10 years of farming experience. Selected individuals can receive loans of up to 500 million KRW per household with an annual interest rate of 1.5%, with a 5-year grace period and 20-year repayment plan. The support funds can be used for purchasing farmland, installing facilities, and purchasing agricultural machinery. However, applicants must be graduates of agricultural-related departments or agricultural high schools, or have completed agricultural education.
Applications can be submitted online through the ‘Agricultural Project Information System,’ and detailed information can be found on the Gapyeong-gun website’s notice board.
