According to Pocheon City on the 14th, the Dongjanggun Festival, now in its 20th year, has a festival period about ten days shorter than last year. Despite repeated heavy snowfalls and cold waves, it recorded 30,000 visitors within 20 days of its opening on the 12th, achieving successful results.

The organizing group, Baegun Valley Merchants Cooperative, played a significant role by preparing various programs that satisfy both children and parents.

In particular, they expanded experiential events where children can play freely and safely, and adjusted food prices reasonably. Various programs for family visitors were prepared, including Euro bungee, large igloo experience, and Yutnori with Dongjanggun.

In addition, the festival showcased a harmonious combination of attractions, entertainment, and food, featuring the symbolic ice tree, snow sledding, ice fishing, and igloo experiences.

Meanwhile, Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon visited the festival site on the weekend of the 11th to encourage residents who worked hard to operate the festival despite the cold weather.

Mayor Baek said, “Now, the Dongjanggun Festival has established itself as a resident-led festival and a representative festival of northern Gyeonggi. I hope this festival will be loved by many people and proceed safely,” adding, “We will continue to strive to make the Dongjanggun Festival enjoyable for even more people in the future.”
