Especially with the increasing possibility of ice climbing being adopted as an official event at the 26th Winter Olympics in the French Alps in 2030, Cheongsong-gun is expected to play a central role in supporting South Korean athletes' advancement and success on the international stage based on its years of experience hosting the competition.

Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “Cheongsong has an environment optimized for ice climbing, and through this extension agreement, it will greatly contribute not only to the development of the ice climbing discipline but also to regional tourism and economic revitalization. We will continue to elevate Cheongsong-gun’s status globally along with the Ice Climbing World Cup.”
