Main and Secondary Colors Suggested with Consideration for Surrounding Harmony
On the 14th, Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced that color experts will provide free consulting when repainting the exterior walls of apartment complexes and other multi-family housing units.
According to the Multi-Family Housing Management Act, the residents' representative meetings and management entities of multi-family housing must establish a long-term repair plan and repaint the exterior walls every eight years. However, the city explained that due to indiscriminate painting during this process, cases damaging the urban aesthetics have occurred, prompting the decision to offer consulting services.
The city plans to utilize experts, including landscape committee members affiliated with the city, to ensure that the new color design harmonizes with the surrounding area in accordance with the "Yongin City Landscape Plan 2035."
The support target includes all 596 multi-family housing complexes completed in the Yongin area. The city will comprehensively review factors such as the building's location, scale, and use, as well as landscape elements affecting the site and surrounding areas, and provide guidance on the basic direction of color design, including primary, secondary, and accent colors.
To apply, the residents' representative meeting or management entity can download the application form from the city’s website and send a consulting request, including a design draft, via email. The consulting results will be provided in writing within 13 days after the application is received.
A city official said, "We hope that residents of multi-family housing will participate in cultivating a pleasant urban landscape by receiving advice from experts."
