KB Kookmin Bank to Launch Bithumb 'Real-Name Verified Deposit and Withdrawal Account Service' Starting March

Only KB Kookmin Bank Accounts Can Be Used for Bithumb Virtual Asset Transactions Starting March 24

KB Kookmin Bank to Launch Bithumb 'Real-Name Verified Deposit and Withdrawal Account Service' Starting March

KB Kookmin Bank will open the 'Real-Name Verified Deposit and Withdrawal Account Service' for customers using the virtual asset exchange Bithumb starting from March 24.

The 'Real-Name Account' is an account that allows financial transactions only between the virtual asset operator's account opened at the same financial company and the customer's account of that virtual asset operator. Partner banks providing the 'Real-Name Verified Deposit and Withdrawal Account Service' act as a bridge connecting the exchange and the trader.

On the 10th, the virtual asset operator Bithumb completed the approval process for the 'Change of Partner Bank for Real-Name Verified Deposit and Withdrawal Account Service' submitted to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). Therefore, from March 24, customers using Bithumb will be able to trade virtual assets only through KB Kookmin Bank accounts.

Prior to this, starting from January 20, a 'Pre-Open Service' allowing customers to pre-register their KB Kookmin Bank accounts will be implemented to facilitate smooth service use for Bithumb customers.

KB Kookmin Bank has established a computerized system and anti-money laundering system capable of supporting safe virtual asset transactions on Bithumb through embedded finance, and plans to provide customers with a convenient mobile financial environment by utilizing its representative platform, KB Star Banking.

A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, "We will continue to strengthen the transactional relationship between the two companies to create synergy in various fields beyond this partnership," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that the virtual asset market grows healthily and stably in the future."
