Jeonbuk Fire Department Conducts Pathogenic Bacteria Tests on Ambulances

to Prevent the Spread
of Infectious Diseases

The Jeonbuk Fire Department, in cooperation with the Institute of Health and Environment, will conduct pathogenic bacteria inspections in ambulances to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and ensure thorough hygiene management.

According to the Jeonbuk Fire Department on the 13th, this inspection will involve collecting samples from key areas such as the driver's seat and patient compartment of 124 ambulances in the province to check the hygiene status inside the vehicles.

Previously, the Fire Department conducted pathogenic bacteria tests on 115 ambulances in the province last year, targeting four types: Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Bacillus cereus, all of which received satisfactory results.

Kwon Kihyun, head of the 119 Response Division, stated, "It is most important to thoroughly manage the hygiene of ambulances to prevent the spread of infectious diseases," and added, "We will continue to do our best, in cooperation with the Institute of Health and Environment, to ensure that residents can use emergency medical services with peace of mind."
