Neighborly Love Continues in Bukbu-dong in the New Year
Warmth Spreads Through Ongoing Donations to Help Neighbors
Welcoming the year of the Blue Snake in 2025, Eulsa year, Gyeongsan City in Gyeongbuk Province has been experiencing a warm winter, with a continuous flow of warm gestures toward neighbors since the beginning of the year, making the cold of Sohan (小寒) almost unnoticeable.
On the 13th, Gyeongsan City announced that at the Bukbu-dong Administrative Welfare Center, where a university district is located and many elderly residents live, donations to help neighbors in need have been continuously made.

Starting with 200,000 KRW from Imdang Hoban Verdiium Senior Citizens' Center in Bukbu-dong, 300,000 KRW from the Residents' Autonomy Committee, 200,000 KRW from all residents of Daepyeong-dong, and 300,000 KRW from Daedong Senior Citizens' Center, they joined the New Year's neighborly love sharing campaign.
Additionally, 500,000 KRW was donated by the Red Cross Volunteer Society, 500,000 KRW by the Autonomous Disaster Prevention Association Council, 300,000 KRW by the Jo Young Volunteer Fire Brigade, 200,000 KRW by all residents of Daejeong-dong, 300,000 KRW by Imdang 3-dong Senior Citizens' Center, and 300,000 KRW by all residents of Daedong (6th district), demonstrating continuous practice of neighborly love.
In particular, Mr. Yoon Kyung-hyun, who resides in Imdang Hoban Verdiium in Bukbu-dong, has been continuously practicing sharing by donating rice worth 500,000 KRW annually (10 bags of 20kg each). Mr. Yoon said, “Although it is a small sharing in the cold winter, I hope it can be of some help to neighbors in need.”
Moon Gye-hwa, head of Bukbu-dong, said, “Despite the difficult economic conditions, I thank everyone who has extended a helping hand to marginalized neighbors in the local community,” and added, “We will make sure to deliver that warm heart to those in need.”
