President Lee ran unopposed in this year's election for the third unified presidency of the Gwangju Swimming Federation and was elected without a vote.
The Gwangju Swimming Federation Election Management and Operations Committee held a certificate presentation ceremony on the morning of the 13th at the Gwangju Sports Council's main conference room, officially delivering the certificate of election to President Lee.
During his acceptance speech at the ceremony, President Lee stated, "I feel a heavy sense of responsibility for being given another opportunity," and added, "I will do my utmost to ensure that the swimming organization plays a central role within the Gwangju Sports Council in the sports city of Gwangju."
Since taking office as the second president in 2021, President Lee has been credited over the past four years with significant efforts for the federation's development and the improvement of athletes' skills, including hosting the Gwangju National Swimming Championships and awarding outstanding swimmers and coaches, as well as expanding the base of swimming enthusiasts.
Originally from Wando, Jeonnam, President Lee currently serves as the chairman of the Gwangju Nam-gu Council of the National Unification Advisory Council and as CEO of Hakrim Construction Co., Ltd.
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Swimming Federation is home to about 15,000 active swimming athletes and enthusiasts, including five district swimming federations, school athletic teams, and swimming clubs.
