New Bottom Tabs: Home, Content, Community, Shopping
Strengthening Position as a 'Comprehensive Content Platform'
Kakao's Content CIC announced on the 13th that it will completely revamp the Daum portal application (app) for the first time in nine years. The plan is to enhance the convenience of using Daum's diverse media, community, and shopping content to further solidify its position as a 'comprehensive content platform.' The Daum app will be updated sequentially from today until the 19th.
The new app places four tabs at the bottom: ▲Home ▲Content ▲Community ▲Shopping. It features a 'Home' tab that provides personalized content and various convenience functions, and tabs for Daum's core assets and highly utilized services?content, community, and shopping?to improve accessibility.
The Home tab is an area where users can discover customized content. It offers useful lifestyle information such as weather, stock market, fortune, and the latest issues. Through a continuous content feed, users can explore personalized content like Brunch stories, Daum Cafe, short-form, and news that reflect their interests.
The Content tab maintains the usability of the previous main screen. It is designed to allow users to enjoy a rich variety of content in both short-form and long-form formats, ranging from in-depth specialized content by topic such as news from media outlets, Daum Channels, shopping, Auto+, and JobIN, to snack content. The Community tab serves as a space where users can interact and enjoy communicating together.
In the Shopping tab, users can shop reasonably by viewing recommended products, events, and shopping content provided in the 'Today's Shopping,' 'TokDeal,' and 'Promotion' tabs. By checking in daily with 'Benefit Plus,' users can also receive Kakao Pay point benefits.
Daum plans to carry out phased updates optimized for users, including strengthening AI-based personalized services and adding a new 'Short-form' tab at the bottom this year.
Along with this revamp, Daum will introduce a new BI (Brand Identity). The new logo is a deep blue color that combines Daum's four existing brand colors into one, symbolizing 'a gathering of diverse content and users' various opinions in one place.'
Yang Ju-il, CEO of Kakao Content CIC, said, "We have revamped the mobile app so that users can more easily enjoy the diverse content Daum holds. Daum will strive to activate content as a comprehensive content platform, supporting the growth of individual creators and content partners while delivering enjoyment to users."
