Suwon Nambu Fire Station "Give Residential Fire Safety Equipment as a Gift This Lunar New Year"

The Suwon Nambu Fire Station in Gyeonggi Province is expanding its promotion of 'Gifting Residential Fire Safety Equipment' for the Lunar New Year holiday.

On the 13th, Suwon Nambu Fire Station announced that it plans to promote residential fire safety equipment through various media such as the bus information system, the fire station website, SNS, large retail facilities, electronic billboards, and banners in traditional markets in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Residential fire safety equipment refers to fire extinguishers and residential fire alarms that must be mandatorily installed in detached houses (single-family, multi-family, and multi-unit houses) and apartment complexes (row houses and multi-family houses). At least one fire extinguisher must be installed per household and per floor, and at least one residential fire alarm must be installed in each compartmented room.

A representative from Suwon Nambu Fire Station said, "There have been continuous cases recently where initial fire suppression using fire extinguishers at fire scenes prevented large-scale fires, and cases where people recognized fires and evacuated thanks to the operation of residential fire alarms," adding, "Let us all protect our safety by installing residential fire safety equipment."

Meanwhile, out of 242 fires in the jurisdiction last year, 32 occurred in residences.
