Dongmyeong Cultural Academy Late Kang Jeongnam, Former Dongmyeong University President's Family, Donates 30 Million KRW Scholarship Fund

The bereaved family of the late Kang Jeong-nam, former president of Dongmyeong University (and former chairman of Dongmyeong Cultural Foundation), donated a scholarship fund of 30 million KRW to Dongmyeong University on the 13th in accordance with his wishes.


Kang Kyung-soo, the eldest son of the deceased and executive director of Dongmyeong Cultural Foundation, stated, “My father believed that a school should be a foundation for students' futures. We hope that this scholarship will be awarded with the hope that Dongmyeong University will create a greater and more magnificent future.”


Jeon Ho-hwan, president of Dongmyeong University, named this scholarship the ‘Dongmyeong Cultural Foundation Late President Kang Jeong-nam Scholarship’ and plans to select 1 to 2 students from each college annually for three years starting this year, awarding 1 million KRW per student.


The scholarship will be used to support Dongmyeong University students in growing into diligent and responsible talents who serve their local community, country, and humanity.


Kang Jeong-nam, former president of Dongmyeong University who passed away on November 30 last year, established Dongmyeong Information College in 1996, then unified Dongmyeong University and Dongmyeong Information College in 2006 to create today’s Dongmyeong University. As president from 2012, he laid the foundation for the university’s development and devoted himself to the school and local community.
