Applications Accepted Until June 30
Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, provides construction cost support to households experiencing significant inconvenience using tap water due to internal corrosion and rust through the ‘Old House Indoor Water Supply Pipe Improvement Support Project.’
The support targets residential buildings under 130㎡ that have been approved for use for more than 20 years, where corrosion occurs inside materials such as galvanized steel pipes installed in the house and facilities, causing rust or foreign substances to appear.
Haman-gun supports up to 1.5 million KRW of construction costs, covering 50% to 95% of the total construction cost depending on the type and area of the house, within the budget. However, houses that have received support within the last five years or have been approved for redevelopment, reconstruction, or remodeling projects are excluded.
After on-site verification, approved applicants select a company to complete the improvement work and submit the related documents, then the county pays the support fund after the completion inspection.
Households wishing to apply for the improvement work can do so by June 30 via email, fax, or by visiting the Water and Sewage Office or the town and township offices.
A Water and Sewage Office official stated, “We will actively promote the old water supply pipe improvement support project so that residents can use clean tap water with confidence.”
