Purchased Sinsa-dong Building in 2017
Over 5 Billion KRW Profit Based on Current Market Value
Actor Hwang Jung-min's building has increased in value by more than 5 billion KRW compared to the time of purchase.
According to a report by Newsen on the 13th, Hwang Jung-min owns a building located in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Built in 1994, this building has a land area of 68 pyeong and a total floor area of 120 pyeong, and was once owned by Samsung C&T Corporation. At that time, Samsung C&T sold the building to secure cash, and Hwang Jung-min purchased it jointly with his wife in February 2017 for 8.416 billion KRW, which was relatively cheaper than the market price. The building is situated on a luxury street in front of Dosan Park, where competition for purchase and lease among famous domestic and international companies was intense in the past.
A maximum bond amount of 4.8 billion KRW was set on the building, and considering that the maximum bond amount is usually set at about 120% of the loan, it is estimated that Hwang Jung-min borrowed about 4 billion KRW. A nearby building was traded for 15.5 billion KRW in February last year. Given that this was traded at about 200 million KRW per pyeong, the value of Hwang Jung-min's building is estimated to be about 13.7 billion KRW. This is an increase of more than 5 billion KRW compared to the purchase price eight years ago.
Hwang Jung-min also owns a building in Nonhyeon-dong under a corporation. This building is located near Gangnam-gu Office Station, a transfer station between Subway Line 7 and the Suin-Bundang Line. It is currently used as the headquarters of Sam Company, his agency, where his wife serves as the CEO. Currently, Sam Company represents actors including Hwang Jung-min, Park Jung-min, Baek Joo-hee, Lim Sung-jae, and Kim Do-hoon.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jung-min debuted in 1990 with the film The General's Son and has appeared in numerous hit works such as Windstruck Family, You Are My Destiny, Rough Cut, Unfair Trade, Dancing Queen, New World, When a Man Loves, Ode to My Father, Veteran, Himalaya, A Violent Prosecutor, The Wailing, Battle Ship Island, Deliver Us from Evil, Spring in Seoul, and Veteran 2, establishing himself as a leading actor in Korea. Notably, three of his films have been "ten million viewers movies" (films with over 10 million viewers), and as of October last year, he holds the record for the highest cumulative audience for lead roles (129 million viewers) and an average audience of 3.47 million per film. He married musical actress-turned-producer Kim Mi-hye in 2004 and has a son and a daughter.
