Selection of 25-Year-Old Myanmar Woman 'Aung' Role
Applications Accepted Until 4 PM on the 22nd
Doosan Art Center announced on the 13th that it will hold an open audition to cast the lead actor for the original musical 'Gwangjang Market,' set against the backdrop of Gwangjang Market and Jongno 5-ga.
The role to be selected through the audition is 'Aung,' a 25-year-old woman from Myanmar who is a key character driving the flow of the story. Female actors in their 20s to 30s are eligible to apply, and Asian foreign actors may also apply. Applicants must have vocal abilities that allow them to freely use both chest and head voice, as well as piano skills sufficient to play chords. Additionally, they must be able to speak Korean lines fluently, including dialects.
The audition application deadline is January 22 at 4 PM. Only those who pass the first round of screening will proceed to the second round.
Detailed information about the audition can be found on the Doosan Art Center website.
The musical Gwangjang Market is a work that warmly highlights the lives and dreams of foreign female workers while questioning the meaning of labor and hospitality in the rapidly changing heart of Seoul’s market. It will be produced as part of the 2025 'Doosan Humanities Theater' performances.
Doosan Humanities Theater is a planned program conducted by Doosan Art Center since 2013, which explores a single theme relevant to contemporary times through various formats such as performances, exhibitions, and lectures. In 2025, Doosan Humanities Theater will focus on the theme of 'LOCAL,' posing fundamental questions about the social phenomena we are currently living through and reflecting on them together.
