Yeongju City to Promote City and Provincial, Rural Road Maintenance Projects

A Total of 18 Routes Covering 20.74 km to Be Completed by 2027
Total Project Cost of 60.8 Billion KRW Invested

Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 13th that it is actively promoting city and rural road maintenance projects to achieve regional balanced development and improve living environments.

The purpose of this project is to expand and pave sections where traffic conditions are inconvenient and road alignment is poor, posing a high risk of traffic accidents, and to newly construct undeveloped rural road sections to enhance residents' commuting convenience.

The city is implementing the project annually with a total budget of 60.8 billion KRW, covering △ 7 city road routes (total length 11.25 km, 30.1 billion KRW) and △ 11 rural road routes (total length 9.5 km, 30.7 billion KRW).

In 2025, the city plans to complete 6 routes including △ road construction between Umusil and Saebaengi (1.048 km) △ road alignment improvement on Sinael Road (0.28 km) △ installation of a roundabout at Sanbeop Intersection △ construction of Hachon Bridge, among others.

In 2026, 5 routes will be completed including △ road expansion and paving between Jeokdong Bridge and Munsu Bridge (2.0 km) △ road expansion and paving between Sangmang and Jinwoo (1.0 km) △ road expansion and paving of the access road to Baek 1-ri (1.23 km). By 2027, the remaining 7 routes will be finalized, including △ road expansion and paving between Seokpo-ri and Jidong-ri (4.0 km) △ road expansion and paving in Byeongsan-ri, Dansan-myeon (2.48 km) △ road expansion and paving between Yongsang 2-ri and Muk-ri (1.5 km).

Hwang Gyu-won, head of the Construction Division, said, “We will carry out the road maintenance projects without delay so that citizens can use convenient and safe roads,” and added, “We will do our best to discover new projects to improve residents’ living conditions.”
