Attracted 448 Events Including International Conferences and Academic Meetings
Boryeong Mud Theme Park, which opened in 2022, has generated an estimated economic impact of approximately 10 billion KRW.
The park has also hosted 448 events, including international conferences, academic meetings, and corporate workshops, with a total of 72,920 participants.
On the 13th, Boryeong City announced that Boryeong Mud Theme Park has established itself as a key driver for revitalizing the local economy since its opening in 2022.
The MICE Business Team of the Boryeong Festival Tourism Foundation joined the Korea MICE Association and the Daejeon-Chungcheong MICE Alliance as a member company and carried out promotional activities.
The convention hall has strengthened its competitiveness by improving facilities, including the installation of a high-definition large LED screen (14.08 x 4.64m).
Last year, the park attracted a variety of MICE events, including: △ International events and academic conferences (the Spring Academic Conference of the Korean Academy of Conservative Dentistry, Mud Festival Academic Seminar, Rotary International District Conference, etc.) △ Large-scale events (e-Sports Festival, JS Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament Welcome Banquet, etc.) △ Incentive tour groups (including Indian groups in Korea) △ Corporate workshops (workshops for executives and employees from various companies in other regions).
Additionally, in July of the same year, the Mud Beauty Healing Center began operating as a hybrid theme park combining conventions and mud experiences. Here, a variety of beauty care services using mud products are provided.
The Mud Festival and Cosmetics Promotion Hall recorded a cumulative total of 42,000 visitors.
Lee Yongyeol, CEO of the Boryeong Festival Tourism Foundation, stated, "Boryeong Mud Theme Park is growing as a representative MICE city and wellness tourism destination in the Chungnam and West Coast regions. By combining Boryeong's unique tourism resources, local festivals, and MICE infrastructure, we will develop differentiated content to evolve beyond the 'city of mud and festivals' into a hub city for tourism and the MICE industry."
