Yongin City Provides Up to 10 Million KRW Support for Replacing Windows and Boilers in Old Houses

On the 13th, Yongin City announced that it will accept applications for the 'Our Home Renovation Support Project' to improve the insulation performance of old houses from the 17th to the 21st of next month.

This project was conducted last year as the 'Yongin City Green Building Creation Support Project.' The city increased the budget from 190 million KRW last year to 250 million KRW this year by adding provincial funds and also changed the project name.

The support targets are detached and multi-family houses, row houses, and multi-unit houses that have been approved for use for more than 15 years, and the applicant must be the owner of the building as per the building registry as of the announcement date.

If selected, up to 50% of the construction cost will be supported, with a maximum of 10 million KRW per household. For collective buildings, up to 30 million KRW per building can be received for common area construction.

Homeowners can use the support to replace old windows and doors with products that have excellent insulation performance and reinforce or replace insulation materials that improve energy efficiency. It is also possible to replace lighting and boilers with high-efficiency products and install heat recovery ventilation systems.

Applicants wishing to apply must complete contracts with construction companies and then submit the application form and required documents in person to the city's Architecture Division from the 17th. The city plans to select recipients through a review committee that comprehensively considers the building's age, size, and energy performance improvement effects. Detailed information can be found on the city’s website.

A city official said, "We increased the support budget and changed the project name this year to help create a comfortable living environment through energy performance improvement," adding, "We hope many citizens participate and gain practical help in improving their living environment."
