Program to Expand to Overseas Markets
Samsung Electronics will operate the 'Galaxy Easy Trade-in' on Samsung.com starting from the 14th, allowing customers to sell used smartphones anytime without purchasing new products.
The eligible models include the Galaxy S23, S22, S21, S20 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Fold4, Fold3, and Galaxy Z Flip5, Flip4, Flip3.
Customers who wish to sell their used Galaxy smartphones can check the estimated price on the Galaxy Easy Trade-in page on Samsung.com, apply for the easy trade-in program, and send the product via courier according to the collection guide.
The collected products will be graded into three categories based on their condition. Compensation will then be provided to customers according to the grade.
Samsung Electronics aims to establish a convenient and secure used smartphone trade-in system through Galaxy Easy Trade-in, with the long-term goal of preserving the market value of Galaxy smartphones. Additionally, by purchasing unused used smartphones from customers for future resale and other uses, Samsung plans to contribute to the circular economy.
Galaxy Easy Trade-in will initially launch in the domestic market and then expand overseas. The overall program operation, including used phone collection and compensation, will be handled by Samsung Electronics' partner company, LikeWise.
Jung Hojin, Vice President and Head of Samsung Electronics Korea, stated, "We expect this program to enhance the long-term value of Galaxy products and contribute to the circular economy." Detailed information about Galaxy Easy Trade-in will be available on Samsung.com starting from the 14th.
