Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that from January 13 to 17, the "Future Opened with Residents, 2025 New Year's Meeting in Each Dong" will be held in 10 dongs.
The event was prepared to look back on the development and achievements of Geumcheon-gu over the past 30 years with residents, marking the 30th anniversary of Geumcheon-gu's establishment and the New Year of 2025, and to share a future vision.
Additionally, to stabilize people's livelihoods and recover the local economy, the voices of residents will be heard on-site, and the lives of residents will be examined through safety inspections of vulnerable groups and field sites.
The event will be held over five days by visiting two dongs each day. On the first day, January 13, it will start at 10 a.m. in Doksan 3-dong and at 2 p.m. in Siheung 1-dong, and conclude on the last day, the 17th, in Doksan 2-dong and Doksan 4-dong.
About 100 residents will participate in each dong, and Mayor Yu Seong-hoon, members of the National Assembly, and city and district council members will also attend to communicate with residents.
The event will proceed in the order of a pre-ceremony program, the main event, on-site visits, and meetings with heads of each dong.
Before the ceremony, the Geumcheon-gu urban brand promotional video "A Good City Report Sent to You" and the 30th anniversary commemorative video "Made In (人) Geumcheon" will be screened. The commemorative video features vivid interviews with residents, showing the changes and achievements of Geumcheon-gu.
Each dong has prepared various programs. In Gasan-dong, the Saemaeul Women's Association will hold a pumpkin porridge sharing event; in Doksan 2-dong, there will be an instrumental ensemble; and in Doksan 4-dong, a guitar club performance is planned.
At the main event, Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu will give a presentation titled "30 Years with Residents, Geumcheon, a City with a Good Future." He will introduce the history before the establishment of Geumcheon-gu, the development record over 30 years, mid- to long-term strategies, and detailed budget plans for 2025 along with major budget projects by dong.
Following this, he will exchange well-wishes with attending residents and hold a New Year's greeting ceremony to pledge harmony and a new leap forward for all.
After the event, Mayor Yu Seong-hoon will visit key sites in each dong to communicate directly with residents. He plans to inspect safety by checking vulnerable households and accident-prone areas and listen to residents' difficulties.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, "Marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment, we have prepared a place to look back on past achievements with residents and draw a future blueprint together," adding, "I will listen directly to residents' opinions on-site and reflect them in district administration to realize an administration that everyone can empathize with."
