Gwangju City Provides Up to 5 Million Won Support for Apartment Workers' Rest Facilities 2025 Apartment Security and Cleaning Workers Rest Facility Improvement Support Project Announcement. Provided by Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do

This project was first implemented in 2022 to guarantee the rest rights of security and cleaning workers who are in poor working conditions and to improve their working conditions.

The target of this support project is apartment complexes within Gwangju City, and up to 5 million KRW will be supported for the improvement of rest facilities for security and cleaning workers.

The support includes not only construction costs for improving rest facilities such as flooring, wallpaper, and ventilation systems but also expenses for purchasing items like air conditioners, refrigerators, and beds. Each complex can select and apply for the necessary items according to their own circumstances.

In particular, apartment complexes without existing rest facilities can secure space through administrative procedures such as extensions or changes of use before applying. However, since residents’ or tenants’ consent may be required during this process, legal standards must be thoroughly reviewed in advance.

Apartment complexes wishing to participate in the support project must submit the relevant documents to the Housing Division of Gwangju City by mail or online by February 14. Detailed information can be found in the notices and announcements section on the Gwangju City website.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “I hope this support project will not only improve the working environment of security and cleaning workers but also serve as an opportunity to create a people-centered apartment culture through changes in residents’ awareness.”
