The Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office (Director Ha Sungil) announced on the 11th that its Veterans Support Center has selected 19 veterans as mentors and held an appointment ceremony.
The appointment ceremony, held the previous day, selected 19 veterans as mentors. These mentors are mid- to long-term veterans who have served for more than five years, have experience in their respective fields, and can guide junior veterans. The ceremony proceeded in the following order: ▲mentor introductions ▲presentation of appointment certificates ▲discussion on revitalizing the mentoring program.
The center operates a mentoring program to minimize trial and error in social adaptation and increase the efficiency of job preparation by passing on the experiences and know-how of senior veterans who have succeeded in employment or entrepreneurship to junior veterans. The fields in which mentors were selected are diverse, including security, distribution and marketing, returning to farming or rural life, office management, technology, entrepreneurship, and welfare.
Ha Sungil, Director of the office, said, "Based on the job search and entrepreneurship experiences of the mentors, I hope they will do their best to help junior veterans gain information in their fields of interest and successfully settle into the next chapter of their lives."
