Separate Environmental White Paper for Children Produced

Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi announced on the 11th that it has published the "2024 Environmental White Paper," which contains comprehensive information about the environment of Goyang City.

The Environmental White Paper is prepared and published every two years in accordance with Article 9 of the Goyang City Environmental Basic Ordinance, and includes the current status of Goyang City's environment, the establishment of environmental management foundations, and environmental conservation policies.

The main contents are △ analysis of major environmental indicators such as air quality, water quality, and ecosystems in Goyang City △ major environmental projects and policy achievements over the past two years △ major environmental policies and plans scheduled for future implementation.

Through this Environmental White Paper, the city plans to raise public awareness of environmental issues and transparently share Goyang City's efforts to become a sustainable city.

Additionally, a separate Environmental White Paper for children, the future generation, has been produced. The children's Environmental White Paper is designed with illustrations and stories to help children easily understand environmental issues and realize the importance of environmental protection. It focuses on helping children develop interest and responsibility toward the environment.

The newly published Environmental White Paper will be provided in electronic document form on the Goyang City Hall website for anyone to access. It is expected that citizens will enhance their understanding of the environment and have opportunities to participate in city administration in various ways through this.

Goyang Special City plans to strengthen cooperation to solve environmental problems and promote various policies to achieve sustainable development, using the publication of this Environmental White Paper as an opportunity.

A Goyang Special City official said, "The Environmental White Paper is an important means to transparently share Goyang City's environmental policies, vision, and current status with citizens," and added, "We hope many citizens will take an interest in Goyang City's environmental policies through this."
