Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced on the 10th that Jangwi Traditional Market has been finally selected for the 'Digital Traditional Market Development Project' announced by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Small Enterprise and Market Service), securing a project fund of about 180 million KRW.
Jangwi Traditional Market has enhanced its competitiveness by expanding a pleasant environment and customer touchpoints through the selection of this public project, following the completion of the installation of the latest arcade. Provided by Seongbuk-gu.
The Digital Traditional Market Development Project is an initiative by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to enhance the online competitiveness and fundamental self-sustainability of traditional markets, providing up to 400 million KRW in project funds over two years.
Jangwi Traditional Market, having been reborn as a pleasant market with the completion of the latest arcade installation last year, has now greatly expanded its customer touchpoints through this project selection, equipping itself with the capability to compete with large supermarkets and e-commerce platforms.
District Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, “We will do our best to establish the six traditional markets in the district as premium markets by actively promoting facility modernization projects, various revitalization events, and diverse efforts to enhance online competitiveness.”
